What is the exact amount of engine oil that should be replaced when doing a oil and filter change ? Sorry to post such an elementary question but I am without an owners manuel.Thanks

My DII only takes 6. I would consult your owners manual. Overfilling by a quart could do some damage.

Owners Manual says 6.3 quarts in the sump. Fill filter before putting on and add 6 quarts and you should be just about on the full line of the dip stick. if not, add untill you are. On my 99 D1, works out to be about 6 1/2 quarts with filter.

my '96 manual says 6.9 or something close enough to 7 quarts. that is with a filter change. my '94 was the same.
i always toss in 7 and it reads right on.
