WIll that fit a stock disco without trimming in a futura MT? what about with 1.5 inch lift? How much bigger is this than 235/75 and stock? power loss?

Just a bit taller than stock. Should easily fit with 1.5" lift. Might require some light trimming in the rear if stock suspension. Not enough power loss to worry about. 245 75 will also fit with the OME MD lift and require no trimming and look terrific in BFG AT. Don't know a thing about the Futura MT.

on a disco 1, 245 75 rubs under full stuff in the back with OME HD lift (1.75-2"). 235/85 may be better, and it is a taller tire (~32").

power loss - with 245/75 (30.6"), the disco feels like it's got a barrel full of chain in it. it will drive okay, but be prepared to manually downshift it more often.

Aren't the 235/85s somewhere around 2 1/2" taller than the stock 235/70s? (29.5" to 32") If you really squat your truck down, your rear fenders will rub like hell with stock suspension. Mine rubbed some even with 762s in the rear. As far as power loss, I guess it depends on where you drive it. In the mountains, you'll notice a really big difference. Flat land not so much. As Peter said, you'll leave it in 3rd more often. It helps at highway speed, as it lowered my rpms at 70 from around 3000 to around 2300.

almost all 235/85 have narrower thread width compared to the stock michelins (with the same sidewall-to-sidewall width), so with some luck they won't rub.

Yup, Enoch, you're right. I misread the original post. 235 85 is 47mm taller than 235 75 so that's about 1 7/8" taller I think. Both are the same width.

Peter- your right, and I wish my tire guy had pointed that out to me when I started my personal tire quest several years ago... It would have eliminated the several sets of tires I have in the basement!

They will require cutting no matter what suspension you have-
Discos love uptravel, wheel opening is only so big. Noticeable power loss, and should regear to 4.10's to come back close to factory final drive ratio.
