I had the truck on the scales the other day. No camping equipment, just the bumpers and the roofrack. I want to end the speculation of where all the weight is and get a real answer. Frame, Axles? Anyways, the truck weighed in at 5800. Let the discussion begin!

Maybe different years weight different amounts. My door jamb says my truck should weigh 5800-6000.

maybe your truck is similar to cheech and chongs. you know......the one made entirely of weed!!! you may think it would be lighter, but you would be amazed how heavy it can get when packed real tightly. may want to do some checking.

or maybe you have lots of caked on mud that never got washed off. yeah....that's it.

That's the gross weight figures. Or never exceed this weight limit, not the weight of the vehicle. Stock disco should be around 4600lbs, so you can carry a load up to the gross weight limit. If you disco is at the limit already then you won't be able to carry much gas around...double check you weight.

But you also go through springs like quite often...that's OK close to home, doing long distances in BFE you cant afford it.

Naaa , the first set of aftermarket springs were in there for quite some time. There are now in Heathers truck and they are still kicking. That second set you saw was in there for only a week and had "Issues" as you could see. The set now has been in there since then and is all good.. You should talk Mr 415 lb spring rate.....

And everywhere else. I have been underneath the Weinstein rig a few times and would say there are a couple 100lbs in mud caked there. He is fanatical about NOT cleaning the underneath and engine bay.
Problem solved Disco just lost some weight.

Yeah I've got the "high" spring rate ehehe, but when I take a close look at your truck Kyle I think you are well within the limit. 2 people, some junk, tools, not that much. It's when you start needing to carry 4 extra gas can's and 4 extra water can's and food and supplies for 10-12 day's you really pay attention to that number. The disco can carry and extra 1600 lbs and this does not include the driver.

This is the territory were the land rover really shines, getting further from civilization than normal rigs.

And Rob, I added the matching shocks to go with those springs,so they can be damped properly with the extra weight. The reason I upgraded the suspension was to handle the extra weight for getting lost offroad. As opposed to looking for a lift.
