Say I was to buy a used truck in Seattle, WA, and needed to have it shipped to northwestern NC,...who's the cheapest (if that word can truly apply) and how much would it cost. Ball park estimates are more than welcome. I can submit all these electronic inquiries to various moving companies, but I'd just as soon hear some first hand stuff if anyone has any experience...
THanks,

John

Not 5 minutes ago I drove my company Chevy Silverado 2500 up onto a transporter for shipment from Phx to Tulsa. My company went through United Road based in Denver. They used Beeline Transport (based in Phx) to actually pick up & ship over. We had two choices: Phoenix to Tulsa in 7-14 days for $700 and $575 in 20-30 days. We opted for the cheaper and it will get to Tulsa on Saturday (2 days from now - it all depends on when & where they have trucks going at any moment).

Or you could price a one way ticket from NC back to Seattle. There might be a Discoweb member that might like a drive accross the country.

John, call Lisa at your Dad's office on Monday. Her husband knows of a couple of auto transport companies in Alabama who are reliable.
Last year I looked into buying a Series III from Oregon to have shipped to Alabama. I think the quote was around $700.

Shipped a Series IIA from Atlanta to Los Angeles this July. Price was $1100 door to door. It took 7 calendar days.

Now I like that idea . . . after Dec 16 I might be willing to drive from Seattle to NC.

I'll do it for gas reimbursement and half the airfare to get me to Seattle.
