I'm really having a hard time finding a winch bumper I like. I'm not really in to the "brush guard" look, looking for something more along the line of "Marty's Bumpers" in the tech section. Does anyone have experience in building bumpers? What are the do's and don'ts of building a bumper for off road use? Any info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
RPW

Have you looked at RTE's bumper blades (without the brush bar)?

Axel,
Thanks for the input, you'll have to forgive my ignorance but I'm not sure if i've seen one or not. I've looked on RTE's web page and the pictures I've seen show bumpers with brush bars. Do you know of a photo somewhere that shows a vehicle with the set-up you mentioned? Or is it the same bumper, minus the brush bar?

You could also buy a winch tray, from Bearmach (DAP carries them). They run about $120, fit between your frame rails and allow you to keep your existing bumper with a bit of trimming...

Why don't you ask Marty how he made his? Did not look too complicated to do. Nothing like the fit and finish of RTE but they were solid.
