I would like a lift for my disco 1 that I don't have to play around with all the time and have to change springs constantly. I just want to put it on and forget it if i can. When I get my new lift I will run 265/75 tires. Does anyone have any suggestions on which lift to get?

A 265/75 tire calls for a 3" lift. Putting the springs on and forgetting them is easy, it's just the rest of the mods to correct the gremblins in a 3" lift that creates the work sometimes. A 3" lift is basically springs, appropriate shocks and mounts, then correcting your driveline. If you want to put springs and tires on and forget, use a OME MD lift and 245/75's. That real safe.

what about the trailing arms and all that shit what are they for??? If you had the pinion correction and all that why would it still vibrate

The gentleman just wants to install springs and tires and forget about it...so a lift of about 1 1/2"/2" is what he wants and he doesnt have to deal with anything else.

then just get RTE spacers

Eric put on 2" and got the vibes. Hell , some have vibes and havent been lifted at all... lol and a 265 will fit fine on 2" of lift... There is some changes that need to be made in the rear quarter but they will go. (And I did say changes , not hackage)

so would what company would give the best 2" lift for the money? On average how much money would it cost to fix most vib problems? Is there any real advantages to going with a 3" rather than a 2"?

I can explain......some trucks react different to the lifts. there are i think lots of things that can be done to address the Vibs usually drive shafts they are kinda expensive like >300..as far as 3 or 2 I dont know I guess its up to the person and the Wallet..lok at the RTE spacers I have seen them on a d-90 they are good if you want lift but want the stock ride

I don't really like the stock ride though. Can you explan about the spacers? What do they do? What are the pro's and con's? etc..

i will put a pic up in a sec give me a minute..they essentailly just go under the spring and lift the srping therefor rasing the truck..why dont you like your sotck ride

the silver things you see under the springs

it seem to be more of a luxury ride to me. I would like a firmer ride?

ok then get HD springs

Are the RTE spacers easier to install than springs? I thought about getting those, but they cost just as much as springs...

Spacers dont work well with the lesser stock spring heights, less stability than a spring thats made for lift.

While we are talking about lifts and bigger tires. What size bumps stops would you need to fit either a 235/85 or 265/75 using the stock alloy rims with no wheel spacers? What if using say GCR steel rims would bumps stop need to be bigger or same size as for alloys?
