Just came back from a 300 miles round trip test drive of my 1997 Disco with new RTE HD 2" coil springs. I'm using my old (40,000miles?) OME Nitrocharger shocks with the new springs. 235 85 MT's and no sway bars. ARB bumper, no winch.
No real vibe problems to speak of. Highway speeds are smooth up to 60 when I get a little shimmy in the steering (balance or tire wear)that goes away before 65mph and a little more "rumble" vibe upwards of 75mph (the absolute limit of speed for me). So I feel pretty good considering I plan to add sliders and a rack (lowering the body some).
I did notice since installing the springs that I get an annoying squeak out of both front springs as they compress and a chirp in the rear upon braking. The rear brake pads could be chirping and probably ar, but it is not a constant squeal like I hear with bad brakes. The front springs, however, can be made to squeak by just putting pressure on the bumper.
Is is normal for the springs to make this noise??

My original OME MD front springs made a mild clanging noise over square edged bumps at low speeds. When I changed to the high lift springs, the noise went away.
I think it's an issue of how some OME springs seat in the spring perches.

my OME HD fronts clank on the bumps & squeek when I get in & out. Everything is seated & bolted properly, so I ignore it.

Further investigation indicates it is the tired OME shocks. The lift created by the higher RTE ride height (vs OME HD) puts the resting position of the shock piston at a higher point on the shaft. I plan to change the shocks out any way.
