Does this improve significant power, and does that void the manufacture warranty?

Look in the "window"......
I'm a DII owner, depending on your dealer and their discretion. Many dII owners with K&N filters have been denied warranty work. Most of this seems to in part that when cleaning and oiling the filter, people put too much oil on the filter. In turn, this oil coats the oxygen senser and causes intake problems.
As for the air force one, it's in your opinion. Many say it increases HP, etc. I would be suspect, simply because it is so exposed to sucking water into the airbox. This would be my biggest concern.
Call your dealer tech MGR, and ask him about warranty..

look in the tech section. If you rally want that setup, just buy the filter, and remove the airbox lid from the intake hose. (Pull the air box up & out. slap that bad boy on right there.) But like DM said water is a very big issue. (I keep the factory box in the box for the water holes). Clarance
