Okay I know the tire issue has been an on going item. But I am just asking for some ideas and input. I just got OME HD springs put all the way around. I need new tires and looking for information for TIRES and SIZE to look at. I am looking for all terrain type of tire that is good in snow and ice.
Thanks

You will find basically three choices recommed by this group:
BFG AT K/O's
Dunlop Radial Rover RT's
BFG Trac-Edges
If you are not going off road at all, I would recommend Michelin LTX M/S. Just put them on my Tahoe which will never venture off-road. Great long lasting tires with a good street ride.
For reviews of tires, hit http://tirerack.com, http://carreview.com, and http://epinions.com.
Tire Rack has a great site to search by tire size and type and then there are a lot of customer reviews and survey data for each tire. I always look there when shopping tires.

Sweet. I'll take your word on the tires, then. Have a lot of experience with TSL's? How do the TrXus hookup by comparison?

I've never run a TSL pizza cutter.

hey i heard a lot of bad reviews on the trxus..(rob where you the one who was supposed to call for the cutting? thanks bud) anyway i heard that the sidewalls have tendency to get easily slashed...I heard this not just from one or two but several people..i was initially very impressed by the tire, but the more research i did the farther away I went from the swamper trxus..rob have used those tires in moab, or really rocky (sharp rocks) aired down?

I just bought a set of 265/75r16 Dunlop Rover RTs. I think they are an awesome all around tire. They had the bite I needed to get through a deeply rutted mud puddle this weekend. I look forward to the first (and all subsequent) snow fall this winter.

I run the bridgestone MT's as well (245/75/16) and I think there a great 10 ply tire. They're quiet on-road and grip great off-road. Blow my old BFG MT's away.

thank you kameron
i'm glad someone else has seen the light - and know that bfg's are not the holy grail that all portend it to be.

I am running goodyear MT/R. They are great in the Mud. I would requiment them to anyone. I get a good deal from the Tirerack.

I just put Pirelli Scorpion S/T's on my 97 disco about 3 months ago. It really depends on your preference and what you're looking for. I like the tires because they kickass in the mud, but at the same time they're A LOT quieter when on the highway than the stock Michelins.
They seem to be a lot better in the rain too which is nice because my wife drives the Disco during the week - I get it on the weekends. These tires are a really good balancee between street and mud.
I got them at Sears for $88 ea but I think that was only a sale and I think they are a lot more expensive now, unfortunately.
I have them on my Jeep too. They are just about the best tires in my opinion if you have to drive every day on the street as well get offroad too.

From what I've been told, Futura M/T's are designed with the BFG design. They have been favorably rated by people I have spoken with and I've seen them in action. They are only $94 at Pep Boys. Team Rovertym also uses them on their Disco as I saw it prepared at the 2001 MAR.
