Hello All,
Now that I have read a bazillion threads on tire fitment, looks like I am ready to go the 245/75 route. Anyone heard of Aurora? I looked on the private list site, but didnt see it there. I think they are pretty new. Anyway, are there any known pics floating around here of a DI w/out a lift wearing this size shoe?
Thanks in advance!

What is Aurora? A tire manufacturer?

I have some pictures of my D1 before I lifted it w/ the 245's on it. They aren't digital and I haven't scanned them yet. If no one else has some let me know and I'll bring them to work and scan them. Sorry to all, I promised before and after pics a long time ago and haven't come through yet.

Hankook is a Korean economy tire maker that's trying really hard to emmulate Michelin. When I was working at Ford, they put Hankook high-mileage tires on the Focus as factory equipment. Kias, Daewoos, and Hyundais use Hankook tires as OEM also.
Personally I don't care much for their ride (as a passenger tire), but in the true generic fasion of all Asian products, they're okay.

The Aurora brand I looked at are an RF05 all terrain pattern. Back of the brocuhure has a New Jersey address as the contact. This model is a really good looking tire, with a great price. I may know more about them tomorrow

I thought Hanook is Canadian or just imported there?

Imported there. They do have an R&D place in Ohio somewhere, as well as some offices around America, but the company is Korean. Not a bad tire. They were actually the first company to offer 100,000-mile tread-life warranty car tires. I don't know anything about their LT/SUV tires, though.

I have totaly stock 99 D1 with 245/75 GY MTR and had minor rubbing on rear fender with sway bars connected. Did the camel trophy cut and no rubbing even without the sway bars. Cut was easy and looks good too.
My Truck:

Hopes this helps.

That looks like Gates County. Where in NC are you? Seems like I've seen your truck; or at least remember a green Disco with a whip antenna like yours...

Gearhead that looks great!
If only I could justify mud terrains. While not a grocery getter, I always seem to do more highway driving.
IN my pursuit for tires I also looked at the PepBoys Futura brand. It seems lots of folks here on the board have used these, but mostly in the MT. I have heard some good in these, anyone car to comment? They have an Adventurer AT I may go with versus the Aurora. SOrta reminds me of the stock Michelin tread. They include a 60K warranty with the Futuras for about $360 out the door cost. Im beginning to see a Saturday morning TIRE RUN

Gearhead,
Where did you get that nifty hood-side antenna
mount? All the mounts of that kind I have seen are simple bent sheetmetal, which is not very pleasing to the eye.

Jon, I,m in Elizabeth City NC just 45 min south of Va Beach VA and spend most every weekend in VA Beach. where are you? I have been looking for local people to wheel with and posted on trail info but did,nt get any responces. We should get together some time. Do you know any local trials other than Outer banks salt bath?
Erik, thats a Comet heavy duty ham radio antenna trunk lip mount for VHF ham radio antenna from LINK{http://www.hamradio.com/} It is a cool fold over unit with a knob you turn a 1/4 turn to fold over if needed.

Thanks Gabe. I've been looking for just such a mount for both my tri-bander and CB antennas. Funny, I've been all over HRO's catalog, and not seen that. Back to the store I go. Thanks!
