I've got the standard leading edge curling on my dash (which I'll fix with the kit), but it's also bowing out around Heat/AC controls. Anyone know of a kit for that area? I'm all for replacing the whole dash, but I would rather not screw with the passenger side airbag.

What year? It is common for it to curl up along the leading edge and that is why they made the 'kit'. It is not common for it to bulge out around the vents (at least to my knowledge). You might want to check with your dealer. Because of a class action lawsuit filed some time ago (or so I read), many people have been able to get LRNA to replace the dash free of charge.

Thanks,
Mike B.

when i had my '94 it did bulge near the vents. so i know what you are talking about. not much you can do about that. at least that i know of. try harrassing the dealer.....just keep on them and eventually they may get sick of you and take care of it. good luck.

Oh well, dealer is of no help and the "lawsuit" thing has been discussed at length. I don't think I'm going to get anywhere with that. Well I'll see what I can shadetree together in the garage. It's a 95 BTW.

Thanks,

This is a simple fix. I had been told that it was something I'd have to deal with...

After you install the kit, (or perhaps while you are installing the kit) remove the radio and the accompanying stuff so that you can get the bezel off. There are two screws at the top that vertically screw into the top-these are the ones you'll most likely miss. You will need an offset screwdriver to manipulate them.

Once you get the bezel off, and the leading edge tied down, it is a fairly simple fix to return the trailing edge to its original position. I did mine six or seven months ago and have had not even a hint of recurrence. I did not apply any adhesive-I don't think it's necessary.

The PO of my Disco, a 94, who owned it between 1997 and 2000 (june) had the dashboard replaced by LRNA at ALexandria dealer. It was free, but then it was also still under an extended warranty that promptly ran out two weeks after I bought the white beast..I think you should look in the law books for a summary of the case and settlement and take that to a different dealer maybe they will fix it for you.

Anyone get theirs fixed free recently? My dealer just said 'no way'.

Only heard of a lawsuit here on this board.

I think the suit was in the UK only...

A $50 kit?- I see it for $65. Is the installation pretty easy or should I pay the dealer to do it. Is there a special tool?
