I guess I am going to give in and rebuild all my door mechanisms since I can't figure out any adjustments to make.
Can Someone that has a parts diagram scan the page or pages that show the internal (exploded) parts of the Driver's front door lock, handle, actuator, ect. with part numbers?
A diagram would really help me to make sence of those parts that I can't see through the door frame.
Thanks a million!
you could put the .jpg on his thread or just email them to [email protected]

I got all 10 pages.
Thanks
When I said "dealer" I was NOT speaking of Denver East!
I actually went to LR Austin to get help with these pages as well as try to talk to someone in service to see which parts I should start with (i.e. which ones would be most likely to cause my problem) They would only say, "Yea, you'll just have to run it through service. We can schedule an appointment!"
They were no help at all.
Could you make any suggestions??
Thanks again
William

No worries William-
What exactly is the problem you are having with the doors?

The rear (left) never unlocked completely with the keyless entry. Then the front (driver) followed in it's steps.
Now it has gotten so bad that I have to turn the key all the way to the right, jiggle it a little and open the door while the key is still turned.
After looking at the picture you sent, it seems that the problem could exist in the Latch assembly (# 10 - MTC7592). And possibly in the various plastic clips may be worn a little.
What do you think??

What happens when you manully pull open the drivers side door Lock?
By William Turner (Wturner) on Thursday, December 13, 2001 - 05:15 pm: Edit |
You mean from the inside? It usually comes unlocked, but sometimes I have to pull hard.
If it doesn't come unlocked all the way (from inside or out) the door will open one step, then catch and lock back (sort of like when you don't close it all the way).
REAL agrivating to get locked out while getting my mail, and keys are in the ignition. I have to go around to the passenger side to get in. That looks real cool oughta get me laid in no time

There may be just a piece of linkage bent or out of adjustment. before replacing the latch, look to see how the latch is contacting the stricker. You may be able adjust the position of the latch. I do sell quite a few latches though.

I don't think it is the actual latch, but the locking portions of the latch, that just so happen to be included on the same peice.
