For those of you interested:

I've been able to track down the Haynes Tech Book for the D1 (89-98 Gas&Des). This book is only available from Haynes Tennessee plant (1-800-242-4637) in the US.

I'm sure that some of you have found this, but I was having a had time, so I figured I'd post this.

Paul,
Is this the same one as listed here:

http://www.atlanticbritish.com/product_list.asp?c=MANUALS%3A&sc1=%2D+All+%2D&c1=MANUALS&type=&v=All&r1=ALL&a1=ON&d1=ON&i1=ON&p1=1&Bookmark=31
If so, it's the British book and doesn't cover the 4.0 V8 from 96 on. Lots of things are the same, but it doesn't cover this engine as it wasn't available in the States. I just wanted to you be aware before. It's still helpful.

I bought that book and it sucks.

Doesn't say one word about my 4.0 and talks mostly about standard trans. (i don't have one)

Now I'm really bummed out - I just ordered the Haynes manual form the Haynes UK web site last week. I have a 97 disco and if it has no info about my engine then I don't know what the hell good it will do me.

When I get it I'll take a look and make a post of what I think of it and what kinds of info it has.

Hopefully it has electrical system schematics which is the main reason I bought it.

The Haynes manual has pretty detailed electrical diagrams, but since it's a book written for England, and the 4.0 was ONLY put in NAS Discoverys, there won't be any info on the 4.0. But every other thing is in there. It's an okay book, but the LR shop manual is really the thing to get if you're serious.
