My 96' has a rear view mirror that has that 'auto' button that turns on and off the fading of bright lights behind you. When I turn it on there is a green light that comes on - but what is that other LED to the left? Is that supposed to come on when it's shut off? cause mine doesn't do anything - easy fix? or leave it alone?

It's the sensor for the auto
dimming mirror.

ahhh - I see - thanks!
See? This site is great! It saved me all the frustration of going in there and ripping the thing apart to find that out for myself!
Thanks again!

And...Just in case you find it and wonder what it is for...The one on the front of the mirror (facing the front of the vehicle) is a sensor to let the mirror know when it's dark out. Just for fun, next time you're out driving in the daytime, cover up the front sensor with your finger and watch the mirror go dim!
