Ho Chung shares his experience with the steering damper relocation kit from Rockware

The bracket goes on the chassis, passenger side. Use the existing holes for mounting the bracket.
This is the old damper (OME) that was located behind the axle. It sure took a beating, but to my surprise, it still had the damping effect.
And this is the other side. the L-shaped bracket is held by u-bolts near the drop arm. Locate the L-shaped bracket so that the steering is not hindered by the damper's travel.
You may need some hammering to fit the new damper to the bracket. it's a very snug fit. Here, I used the OME D90 damper.
The damper in it's new location clears the SG skid plate just fine.
