It's time to replace my rear mud flaps on my 99D1
Before I ordered another set of stock units
Wondered if there were any better alternatives?
The RRC ones perhaps?

Thanks in advance

Yes. Your local NAPA store might have huge mudflaps cut for big rigs; they are cut from the rubber sheet used for conveyor belts - soft but with several layers of cord inside. Cut to shape and enjoy.

I just use the cheap ones on ebay. Given how easy they are too swap out I can't find any reason to install a 'premium' part. $30 will get both sides done.

Ended up ordering RRC spec flappers for $18.50 shipped off eBay
The last set lasted 9 years, hopefully these will too!
