I like the look of a skinny tire and really want to run 235/85/16 tires on my D2. The problem is that I can't find a 16x7 steel wheel to fit the vehicle. There are no P38 spare wheels to be found anywhere on the internet. I've investigated the 94-96 Camaro steel wheels but they are actually 16x7.5. The widest wheel for a 235/85/16 is 7". There doesn't seem to be any options. Does anyone have a suggestion?

I'm currently running 245/75/16 on factory 16x8 alloys and never really liked them. It's probably because I should have had a set of P38 spares a few years ago but Dominic Perodeau ripped me off................

Bonus - you can rent out the leftover room in your wheel wells to a family of illegals.

The BFG site recommends 6-7.5 for the KM2. I have seen other mfgs say 6-8"

..

For what it's worth, I ran 235/70/16 on these ugly OEM 16" from a P38a as a winter setup. They are 8" wide, and no issues whatsoever. Tires didn't wear funny or look the least bit stretched.(and I was easily able to mount them by hand in my garage) Don't worry about a 7.5" wheel with 235 section width tires. 235mm is still more than 9" wide.

I have stock D2 alloys that I've been hauling around for years. Come take them. Please.

Thanks for the offer but I already have 2 sets of 16x8 alloys.Roverover was able to hook me up with 5 of the solid P38 spares that I have been wanting for years. Just waiting on proper lug nuts, centers and I'm going to ask for a relocation bracket for the spare. Planning to get 235/85/16 General Grabber AT2's once it all shows up. That will replace 245/75/16 KM2's I have now. They didn't wear well and are really noisy.

This whole thing started because I paid Dominic Perodeau for a set of 16?7 Genuine LR steelies years ago and he ripped me off. I was never happy with what I had but made due until my next set of tires.

Thank you very much Randy Williams (Roverover) for hooking me up with 5 16x7 genuine P38 spares, centers, lug nuts and a spare re-locator bracket. Great service!

Really happy with the look of this. 235/85/16 Goodyear Wrangler AT Adventure. Rides great compared to 245/75/16 KM2's which were a mistake for my driving habits.

For ride quality on 16" you want a C or D rated AT/HT in a 70 - 75 ratio. 245/75 255/70 265/75

For bite 235/85 and 255/85 are supreme.

After having 2 sets of 245/75 and now having 235/85, I prefer the latter. Too bad its such a pain to get a 16x7 wheel for these vehicles.
