I did it but didn't move the center console. Things plug together under the seat as expected, but you have to use the seat switches on the side of the rangie seats. to move them.

I have yet to get around to plumbing the seat switches back to center console, I forsee that never happening. lol

Takes no no time at all to swap. and one of the best mods , that arm rest makes all the difference on long trips

yes rear bolts in too.

Just to confirm. I used 1995 Range Rover Classic seats.

I have no idea if p38 seats are the same.

The seat and arm rest is far superior to the disco stuff, and there is that great rangie leather smell.

Is this RRC-to-D1 swap only possible with a '95 RRC?

I have seats from a '92 RRC that do *not* fit the (manual) seat bases in my '94 D1. The RRC seat rails are spaced far to wide.

94 and 95 D1s have different rails.
Most Classic seats can be installed in 96-99 D1 - I didn't have to drill any holes to mount a set of RRC seats in my D1.

Wow this is good to know since the d1 front seats are 1 thing we hate about ours since they are so uncomfortable, do d2 seats bolt up to? We have 98

I believe any of the RRC years normally found here (88-95) will go right into a 97 D1 with no issues. I've had some unidentified year in my 96 before-returned them to a friend who has ~18 RRC's and all his seats are the same in term of style.

If you've got a good donor and can make the jump to the RRC backseat too I'd say it's worth it-not sure if you have kids but mine love the arm rest(s).

FWIW the RRC seats in the Disco were damn nice, I probably should have kept them in there but like a dumbass I switched to cloth-eventually then going to leather, power to get the heat option back.

I knew the back fit, didn't know the front fit, too. I hate setting my arm on the console, can't wait to come across a full set

Not w/o some modifications. DII seats have the mounts built into the seats. So they have to be cut off and new tabs welded onto the rails. Not a horrible job if you have an angle grinder and a welder.
