I have an 2002 LR Disco 2

The tranny gear shift interlock is not working.

I have no response from the central door locks either. The key, key fob and the dash button all do not work.

I also have an integrated relay clicking in the fuse panel/IDM when I press the brake to shift out of park.
The brake lights work when you depress the pedal.

I am at a loss as to where to look for the issue. any help is greatly appreciated.

test your battery.

check the connectors for corrosion on your battery cables.

just dealt with something similar and it was corroded battery cables.

Check all grounding nuts over the grounding bar near battery. Retighten.

Still stumped by this. Anyone else have any ideas? I'm thinking it a grounding issue. But would there be a common ground to these issues?

You need a new fuse box.

I keep a spare fuse box with all the relays and fuses in my Disco.
Best $12 I ever spent at Pull-A-Part.

Will, these cascading issues would be related to a failing fuse box?

I heard of solder connections coming loose on the circuit board inside the fuse box.

Definitely could be. Sounds like your interior box is failing or has failed in some areas.

Happens on a regular basis. I have them in stock it you end up tracing it back to there.

The fuse box was replaced last night. No change in symptoms. No wiring looked compromised. Any other suggestions?

I was going to say check fuse 21 but you said you swapped the fuse box. Did you use new fuses and relays or did you use the old ones in the new fuse box?
Are you getting power to your shift interlock solenoid when the brake is pressed? If not, could be the solenoid isn't getting power, it's not grounded or the solenoid is dead.

Will, you think these issues are more related to the fuse box under the hood?

when this initially happened.

Did you enter the truck with the key in the door/fob etc?

I would have used the FOB and it didn't work. I then unlocked from the door.

Can the doors be opened from the inside when locked using the key in the driver's door? You don't mention if the engine runs but I'm assuming it does. Could it be your in super lock mode?

I have no locking of the doors by either the key or the Fob or the central locking button on dash. The key only lock the drivers door not the others.

I also do not have
turn signals (flash on dash but not outside the truck
wiper delay
wiper when squirting the washer fluid
transmission shift interlock
rear window operation

thanks for your help with this Will
