But the hardcore web wheelers sure did come out in that thread.
So long as it's made properly and used correctly, I don't see why it should be a problem.

It's only been around for thousands of years, after all.

I was going to get some a while back, but despite all my off-pavement driving at that time I'd wager 95% of my winch use has been for utility purposes; moving logs and such. Wouldn't be the best product for that.

For recovery, though... Should be more than fine. Actually, it would probably be a decent idea to keep a few around. It's not as if they take up much space.

Well, the cash did change hands...although I wonder if Trump's lawyer (and Stormy) should be looking over their shoulders for the IRS.

#Capone #taxes

Trump’s lawyer confirmed the Stormy Daniels payment. What’s conspicuously absent: Any denial that Trump was involved.

If you're only coming to this site to post in this thread, you're making this place shittier, not better. DWeb has always been a tell-it-like-it-is place but I can't think of another thread here that has been so continuously nasty. Do you guys feel good after you come here and post in this thing, or is it just reflexive and habitual? I don't get it.
I think people just like to argue, but a one-thread forum is a bit boring; and that's kind of where we're at in the General section.

Can't be bothered to keep up with this thread, but it isn't too far off from how the days of the great philosophers are described. We remember the writing and thought, but conveniently forget how annoying they were at the time; yelling at each other, insulting people, pissing all over the place to make points, and even running into each others' schools to intellectually assail people in front of their students.

Hell, they even dealt with roaming bands of philosophers specializing in teaching people how to "win" arguments unfairly.

That's all ignoring the two most irritating men to have ever walked the Earth, though: Socrates and Diogenes.

Cheers,

Kennith

This thread is awful and frankly turned me off from the site. Seeing this at top of the page daily is trash. Lock it.

There's a whole section for that: https://discoweb.org/forumdisplay.php?f=1

It's not like you are forced to read the thread every time you come to Dweb...Kind of like the Freelander forum - I think I've been in there maybe a dozen times in the 13 years I've been here.

Different strokes for different folks.

Looking back through the posts here, it's obvious to me that "pulling out" hasn't happened nearly enough over the years.

Let's see if anyone notices what I've done here...

People have been influenced heavily by an amateur media machine so focused on click-bait and Twitter that they haven't even noticed they've been trolled for nearly a year. The major networks aren't immune, either.

Nearly all easily accessible "front page" reports regarding these affairs would receive failing grades within a high school English course, and most are directed to the reports they are believed to respond to.

Otherwise reasonable, aspirational, and understanding people are lined up with keyboards and torches, and they don't even know why. It all reads like a playground argument, which is fine (those are fun), but they become disturbing when escalated beyond a few people having fun picking on each other.

It's very much a situation similar to the hatred of FOX news. It's so cool to hate FOX, that nobody realizes they're being lied to everywhere else they turn, as well. Information is taken as gospel simply because FOX didn't release it.

Now, the same has happened for any accusations leveled at Trump.

There are things I don't like about Trump's ideas. They are all, however, disagreements regarding positions he's actually held for a long time. Some of them are even "big issues", but there are bigger issues out there.

He has, through the years, maintained his stance on many extremely important topics; topics most people cannot grasp, are too distracted to grasp, or simply refuse to grasp. Whatever he may be, he's certainly not an idiot.

It's like swimming in the drunken pro-Obama pool all over again, but in reverse. "We're all cool, and anyone who's not with us is an idiot..."

Hell, anytime you find someone like me and someone like Dan on the same page, or even in the same book; and both walking a little more quietly than might be expected...

...That alone is an indication that something is up.

A lot of people are going to have one hell of an intellectual hangover once this is over with, regardless of who ends up behind the Resolute Desk.

If you guys could hear yourselves from somewhere outside this hysteria, I think you'd be shocked.

Cheers,

Kennith

Indeed-but what it means is another matter entirely.

Apologies to Chris (Snell); if he feels that way I won't challenge his perspective nor offer excuse for being a primary belligerent. This thread has had its ups and downs, sadly I would say the beauty of Dweb is that this kind of thread can persist-and occasionally have an actual dialogue, whereas nowhere else do I think you'd actually find something like it.

Not a fan of free speech, huh? Maybe you don't realize just how rare a thread like this is on a forum? Or just what a gem Dweb is with zero sponsors or ads. See the beauty of it is you don't have to look at it. Its called choice.
