I bought a car that needs some work and one of the side windows is shattered. I'm hoping to get it out in one piece. It made a 40 mile tow but it's close to breaking in. I have some vinyl wrap (or maybe just duct tape) I was thinking about trying to put on both sides before pulling the door panel but since Discoweb knows all I thought I would see if any of you guys have any tricks before I tried it.

Ignite a half stick of dynamite in the cargo area to ensure that all the pieces blow out instead of in. Makes for easier cleanup.

Some solid advice there... Might as well wrap some det cord around the window frame and just 'clean' everything out.

I put vinyl wrap on both sides and pushed it out. It worked well, almost all of it stayed together except for some pieces in the frame.

When my rear side window blew out from tree roots I just vacuumed it out. Took maybe 10 minutes. Didn't seem that difficult at the time.

The wrap worked well because I could put it beyond the window and peel it right back off around the edges as I pushed it through. I It probably kept 95% of it together but I still spent an hour getting the glass out of the inside of the door.
