Seems when the truck is cold and i first head out, the turn signals won't work or will be severely delayed, until the truck warms up. After the truck is warm, they work flawlessly.

Whats up with that???

So I need to replace the turn signal/headlamp switch (the entire stalk?)
or
Learn to live with it till it totally shits the bed.

Is that a fair interpretation?

Yes!
Another sign of impending doom is no interior lights when you turn on the headlights.
A lot of the time you can jiggle (ha ha, jiggle!) the switch and they'll come on.

hard to replace?? do I have to pull the wheel like on my defender?? Looks simple enough to get the plastic shit off my steer column but one never does know what one may find once your in there?

P.S. Jiggling my stick/stalk doesn't help.......at least with my turn signals

Remove the upper column trim covers and turn the steering wheel 90 degrees to the left and youll see the 2 small screws that need to be removed.....then carefully pry the old switch out and unplugg.......then re-assemble in reverse order

easy as that...good luck

Is it the switch/stalk or could it be the relays? I've got the same problem and figured I'd swap out the relays since they are the easiest to be begin with...
