Back in 99 Land Rover told us that the correct name for the LJ Discovery was just Discovery and the LT Discovery was The Discovery 2. Most of us who have worked on Rovers for a long time just like to look at the 3rd and 4th letter in the vin. You have LD, LJ, LT, LF, LP, LM, LV. Every repair order for a Range Rover says just Range Rover on the vehicle description. Then You have to look at the vin and figure out what your looking for. I find myself calling a Disco 1 an LJ Disco as apposed to an LT Disco.

Most of the 99 D1 models were SD with no sunroof like mine. Paid $1200 for mine like 7 years ago with 115000 miles on it in great shape. The center diff lock was not engaged and they did not know what was wrong with it. Bought it crawled under and lubed mechanism engaged it and drove off.
