This is a reminder to all of you who sell stuff in the classifieds section, and conveniently 'forget' to send a donation when a sale has been closed. You know who you are, and so do we.

The donation policy is not optional, even though it has operated on the honor system so far. We do see that a lot of stuff is being sold, but at the same time donations are virtually non-existent.

While Ho and I don't run DiscoWeb as a means to get rich, it is not a charity operation either. It costs money to keep the site running, and a conscious decision was made to rely on donations to keep the site running, ad free and self regulating.

We don't want to have to accept ads or worse, shut the site down. We will however continue to keep an eye on the classifieds threads to see who complies with the donation policy, and who don't, and take action as we deem appropriate. As a matter of fact, we have banned one member today for non-compliance with the donation policy. We don't want to have to ban anyone else.

So by all means, continue to sell your stuff in the classifieds, but if you would like the site to still be here 3 years from now, please pay attention to the donation policy when you close a deal.

Ho and I would also like to say a warm "Thank You" to all the members and vendors who DO comply with the donation policy - and those who step up to the plate when we have a donation drive. We know who you are, too - and without you DiscoWeb would not be here today! So Thank You very much for your continued support!!!
