Does anyone know if the code reader that autozone/advance auto/pepboys uses to read car codes for free will be able to read the codes on a DII?

3 amigos just showed up

Standard OB2 readers wont read ABS codes unless it specifically says it does. Most of the basic ones wont.

Spend the $120 and get the Autel 619. It reads/clears OBDII, ABS and SRS (airbag) codes for EVERYTHING (Rover, GM, Toyota, Lambo, Rolls Royce...)

Will it read and erase codes on a ‘97 D1 also?

Thanks,

Jeff

IIRC, OBDII was required for all vehicles (US) from 1996 on, so yes for engine codes. Not sure about ABS/SRS. Others might have more definitive info.

Anyone know if the Autel ML629 has any new features that the AL619 does not have that would be good for the Land Rover Disco 1? Looks like it's about $10 more. ($129.98)

TY

Looking at the Autel website, it looks like the AL619 isn't listed, but is replaced by the AL629. That looks to have the same specs as the ML629 (I can find any differences other than the case color).

It looks like the 629s have added the ability to read/clear transmission codes versus the 619.

I'd buy it.
(In fact, I might and give my 619 to my daughter).

For a few more dollars you can get a Foxwell NT510 that does a hell of a lot more.
