Hey all,

Recently had to replace my power steering pump because the shaft had in/out play. I am rebuilding the old one and noticed the small Dowel that goes in the indent of the shaft looked sheared. Does anyone know if the little Dowel should be symmetrical on both ends? If it is, anyone know where I can source a replacement?

Thanks,
Jamie

May be this pump is a Hoburn pump. My 300TDI Disco was equipped from factory with this one, and its typical fail is to push pulley out from belt. Once repaired, same fail was again so I recommend to change it in order to reduce risk of engine damage. ZF pumps are better and don't push pulley out when they die.
