I'm trying to remove the oil filler neck to clean the rocker covers. That sonofagun isn't budging. I was able to get it to rotate a few quarter turns but I've now successfully lodged it in place. Is there something on the inside that needs to be released before I can fully remove this thing? Or some other trick before I go caveman on this thing?

Oddly on my D1 the darn neck unscrews from the rocker cover nearly every time I try to unscrew the oil fill cap from the neck! So to answer your question, on a D1 it simply unscrews. Not entirely sure about a DII.

It just unscrews. I had to use a large slip-joint pliers the first time because 15 years of grime had it locked down.
