01 D2 boiling coolant after 10ish miles and coming out of overflow tube. Temp Guage goes up when this happens. Did a pressure test with auozone rent a tool and held steady at 15psi for 20 min. Curious if anyone has seen a cracked block, heads, sleeves etc and still had the truck show good on a pressure test? I ask because misfire in cylinder 3, and loooots of white exhaust smoke made me assume cracked block or slipped sleeve initially. Now I think something is clogged stuck etc. given the ok pressure test.

Most likely head gasket failed.

I have seen bad head gaskets stil hold pressure in the cooling system.

Pressure test and let it sit for several hours.

Thanks guys I’ll let y’all know what I find out. I did also notice an unusual amount of oil in the throttle body via the crank pressure breather tube.....

get one of those kits and check for the presence of exhaust gasses in the coolant system. A pretty difinitive test for leaking head gasket if thre is not external leak.

If the exhaust gases are getting into the cooling system from cylinder 3 you have a cracked block or (unlikely) a cracked cylinder head.
