Wires ripped out of the TPS. Since they are way NLA I attempted repair and it seems to have taken

Split it open. Re soldered, made a PVC sleeve. Used petroleum jelly as mold release and PC board potting epoxy

Yes, please.

And please explain, which TPS is NLA?

.

The lucas ones for 88(?) to 95 3.5/3.9/4.2 and probably some euro stuff that I dont know about

There is that genfy or whatever that people are adapting, but I dont see the ohm range for it anywhere. Lucas sensor is 18kohm, everything else Ive tested is half that or less. Im hesitant to adapt something else that would significantly increase the current through a 25 year old ECU, things may start cracking with the change in thermal stresses, so rebuild it is

Robert, if you're curious, check this Digikey part.
It does not fit directly, but it is fully-compatible electrically, according to the specs.

Hall effect TPS would be a nice upgrade, but youd have to rework the harness for power supply. Maybe not a big deal, but I do like the option of junkyard parts still fitting the truck
