I was faced with the same issue and decided to cut and lengthen mine. I had some trouble finding the right diameter tubing but found that you can cut a section out of the center and use it for splices. Then you can section the center tubes with the replacement tube that is only slightly larger diameter. I had to lengthen the rack in the rear section 4-6" and at the same time I added a few additional bars to grab onto when getting in. You should be able to have this done for $100-200.
