It would take a lot to get me to sell my G4. But I found this fairly clean example on fleabay...

...this would scare me: "The last 4 years it has only been driven about 4000 miles per year."
My only concern with the low mileage is making sure the engine was able to heat and cool. I still say the main reason my 4.6 slipped a liner at 100k miles was the lack of getting through a reasonable heat cycle. I was only driving about 3 miles each way for work. The truck never really reached a good temp.
That doesn't answer my question. Without knowing a detailed history of the prior owner's driving patterns there is no way to determine how the truck was used to travel that distance. Here are three different scenarios of how it could have racked up 4,000 miles per year:
1. Truck was driven on a 77-mile trip once per week.
2. Truck was driven 3ish miles per trip, 3 times a day.
3. Owner drove cross country via the scenic route over a 1-week span, once per year, and the truck sat the rest of the time.
Each of these scenarios reflects very different driving patterns and they all add up to 4,000 miles per year. You might argue that one of these scenarios is better for the truck than the others. So to say that low annual miles would "scare you" makes no sense without knowing how those miles were driven.
Obsession? Hardly. Have you read any of Kenneth's posts lately?
On a G4 side note...(no pun intended)...does anybody know where to get the side decals (strips) for the G4. Mine never had them. I'm not sure I really want them but it might be nice to set aside for "someday". I've been able to track down the small G4 badges but not the rest of the kit
