re: 1990 RRC

Since the weather turned cold, my shifter is very hard to move when it's cold. Once it warms up, it operates normally. I just priced the cable on BritPac. It's $.05 less than I paid for the whole truck. $499.95. Is there an alternative? Would removing the cable, de-greasing and re-greasing it help?

It wouldn't hurt to clean and re-grease (using a good grade of grease). But the problem is most likely the things that it's hooked to, the shifter mechanism and the trans pivot. Give it a go, it might save you that $500 bill.
