My 2000 DII's AC Condenser Fan Motor was rusted to pieces and not working, so I wanted to get a new motor. I was not about to pay $350.00 for a new fan assy. So I went to NAPA Online and started going through pictures of AC condenser motors from 2000 MY vehicles to see if I could find something cheap that I could make work. As it turns out one from a 2000 Toyota Corolla is an exact replacement. I picked one up a the salvage yard for $15.00 this morning and installed it. All I had to change was the wiring connector. I was going to upload a photo or two but the DWeb won't let me for some reason.

AC Delco # 1580341

Here are the other vehicles with the same condenser fan motor.

CHEVROLET PRIZM (1998 - 2002)
CHEVROLET TRACKER (1999 - 2000)
HONDA ODYSSEY CARGO (1999 - 2002)
HONDA ODYSSEY EX (1999 - 2004)
HONDA ODYSSEY LX (1999 - 2004)
SUZUKI VITARA (1999 - 2002)
SUZUKI VITARA JA 2002
TOYOTA COROLLA (1998 - 2003)
TOYOTA MATRIX (2003 - 2005)
TOYOTA MATRIX XR (2003 - 2005)
TOYOTA MATRIX XRS (2003 - 2005)

Hopefully this can save people time and money. I searched the forum and could find not mention of this parts interchange.

I realize this is pretty old, but figured my recent boneyard misstep could be avoided by someone else that stumbles upon this useful info.

R.e. Corolla/Prisim, you need the fan on the engine side of the radiator, not the one on the grille side.

Also, you need to find one that has the 2 fan setup on the engine side and get the passenger side one (which will be kinda obvious).

I have found that a 1993 Toyota Corolla condenser motor fits into Discovery 1 stock housings and is a direct replacement for condenser fan motors. No modification except you must use disco plug. I replaced both motors this past Sat. This is info I wanted to share with everyone because I found no information searching. The Corolla fan motor is a Denso pancake just as stock and can be found in junkyards. I hope this is helpful.

Do you know if these motors will work on a D1?

*** FOR D1 ***

In addition to the VDO PM9115 for Toyota Corolla 1993-1997:

VDO PM9152 - FOUR SEASONS 35087 - TIY-3481 / fits 2003-2006 Honda Element. About $42.00 from Rock Auto. About $60.00 from your FLAPS.

Direct fit in frame for D1 and on the fan hub. Motor flange to hub face is slightly more than the OEM. The fan will still clear the condenser.

For peace of mind I added about 4mm of spacers between the motor flange and frame to bring the fan flush with the front of the frame (move motor backward).

Pulled the electrical connector from the old motor and moved the spade terminals from the new into the old connector.

As my fan motor was totally seized up, I ordered the AC Delco # 1580341 for my DII.

Fits right but has one difference - The OEM motor has a shield on the back of the motor with a vent/drain at the bottom - the Delco has vent holes all on the back of the motor with no shield. So i plan on making some sort of shield to try and block as much water getting into it as i can.

I had the same problem when I replaced my motor.
Used the bottom of a plastic bottle from the recycle bin and zip tied it to the fan shroud and painted it black.
Been working fine for a couple years.
