Im back....
My 1st Disco was a 99 D2 SD in 04, I did OME setup, and then discovered
Rovertym (RTE) much larger lift, radius arms and 255/85/16 KM2s later I had my 1st rig. I also had all ARB goodies
Fast forward 2015 I pick this 96 D1 SD, Safety Devices Rack Frankenstein Terrafirma lift, cheap LEd lights, but total motor rebuild.
Went to a 92 Trooper, FZJ80 then a 1st Gen Montero. All these pics are finished product.
I had to go back to a D1, my Favorite by far.
97 SE ARB bumper OmE Nitro amd HD springs, Mantec snorkelFE333261-E1A2-4998-AB13-BADF2880C7EC_1534294984132.jpg

Ykes my new Rover is the red/maroon 1. I am most happy 4 sure with Rovers, my 3rd....
Shitty thing is I bought it for 2k, with ARB bumper, Mantec Snorkel, OmE Nitro chargers, MD springs.
I thought the "shimmy" it had on accell/decel was a panhard bushing .
NOPE its the steering box.....
$900......
F me.
I just bought 5 Duratracs..

I was wondering that as well. I have been called away toward the FZJ80 at times but....it just doesn't do the fizz (James May, et al) thing that the Disco delivers in spades. The Toyota is as capable as a dutch carpenter though.

That's a nice one. Rojo red is a rare color. They didn't sell in Mexico so they brought them to the states to sell.

Pulled down headliner, removed saggy liner and glue.
Painted it with Brown " Fleckstone", I did this on my 96 D1 and turned out great, I will take pics tonight before I renstall and after.
I also painted wheels with Rustoleom "Hammered" finish, I have done this on a few SUVs as well.

I think my ARB bumper is for a D2?
Or are those pads for airbag equipped Discos?
