Sorry for the long post, I'm having some issues with the accessories on my D2 and I'm not sure what's going on. First off none of these are connected in any way with the factory stuff, all of these are on their own independent wiring harnesses and it's all been functioning fine for over a year. Also all of my grounds and the battery terminals are clean...

I have two Hella's wired up with the Hella wiring harness, the positive is on a secondary terminal on my battery and the harness is grounded by where the negative battery cable is grounded from the factory (behind the battery in front of the coolant reservoir). I have two radios (ham and LMR) both with their positives on the same secondary terminal on the battery and both have their grounds going to the same place as the Hella's.. My winch has it's it's cables going directly to the battery (the positive on the same terminal as the rest of the stuff and the negative is going to the negative secondary terminal).

Here is what's going on. (I almost always have one or both of the radios on.) When they are on and I turn the Hella's on they loose power (one powers off all together and the other flickers kind of on and off) and the Hella's don't turn on but the relay clicks back and forth very quickly, when I turn the Hella's off the radios power back on. If I flip the switch a few times the Hella's will come on and the radios will power back up too. My winch solenoids (this may be unrelated due to just dirty connections in the winch) also will just click a few times and then it will work.

Any ideas as to what is going on? It doesn't seem like power is the issue, when I get everything on there are no problems and both radios can transmit on full power (one putting out 65 watts and the other around 40 watts or something). I was thinking maybe the ground is overloaded, but this stuff has been fine for a long time...

Well I'm going to have to do some digging around this weekend. It's obviously either a ground issue or something is up the battery...

Also I swapped out the Hella relay just to see if it was bad and messing with the other stuff somehow and no change. This issue doesn't always happen either, sometimes everything works fine. My battery is a DieHard Marine Platinum PM-1 and it's maybe a little over a year old just FYI...
