Leaky windshield?

So Ive developed a wet passenger floor board, but ONLY when it rains. I can drive the truck 100 miles in dry weather with no water, but if it sits and its raining, then sure enough its wet.
To me that eliminates a leaky heater core, and points to the windshield itself. I removed the cardboard kickplate beneath the glove box and found the water is dripping from above the blower motor. All the wires around there are wet.Luckily its all being caught by my rubber mats.
The plastic piece below the windshield where the wipers are is badly cracked. Im wondering if that has anything to do with it? The two big drain holes in the tray below it are clear.

Ive tried putting silicon between that plastic and the rubber weatherstripping, but it still leaks. Nothing else feels wet. Where else could the water be coming from??

I would check the body seams in the cowl area first . Water will pool up in the area below the windshield when leaves or other crap plugs the hole that drains that area . Then the water enters the cabin thru body seams .

The drain holes are clear, but I didnt think about the body seams leaking.
Im thinking I may hit that whole area with a water proofing rubberizing spray.

Have you run the a/c and noticed it? I seem to remember that there are 2 drains which run either side of the trans to drain the a/c and they can get blocked with silt, so when you run the a/c it vents inside the truck... just a thought.

I havent driven the truck in a week. Its been bone dry. Today it rained all morning and the floor mat is wet. Not a lot, but definitely noticeable. I know the drains your talking about and I will check those next time I crawl under the truck.

If the plastic cowl on the bottom of the windshield is not sealing to the windshield properly water will run underneath it directly in to the AC fan box intake. I used a piece of galvanized steel to redirect the water over the intake. I have heard that some people pull that plastic cowl off and run a bead of windshield sealant/glue along the top edge and then reinstall.

This was the problem. I used clear marine silicon to seal up the cracks in the cowl and i pulled the weather striping off and siliconed that back in place. Several rain storms and car wash later... No more leaks!

Thanks cosmiccharlie!
