Just got my new Petersen's 4Wheel and Off-Road magazine today. The LR4 is their 4x4 of the Year!! They really liked it very well overall. Better than the new Ford Raptor, Grand Cherokee, and Lexus GX 460. A quote from the article, "Surprising, nay shocking capabilities both on-road and off. And comfortable too! Like a true English gentleman, it doesn't get ruffled". Also said " In the end, the LR4 won because it made four-wheeling fun. It has steering, gearing, and power in a package that offers great visibility and protection. What more could you ask for?" This is the first time an LR has won the 4x4 of the year honors for the magazine which has been putting out a yearly winner since 1983!!! Very nice to see this from an American wheeling magazine.

According to some reliable sources, the Tdi is due around 2014... Maybe a touch sooner.

Well then I guess I have time to start saving. :D

Also, Land Rover USA may not exist for very long, with the new Range Rover Evoque coming out, it shows the direction the people at corporate want to take and ditch the Land Rover name and return to solely Range Rover in the USA. So you may also see the disappearance of the LR2, replaced by the Evoque and the LR4 renamed as some sort of Range Rover.

Uh huh.

Did you hear iPhone is coming to Verizon too!!!

I want to go check out this article. If the LR4 is the best 4x4 of the year, then the off road industry is in trouble.

TopGear was also quoted as saying the following when they awarded a top SUV pick to the LR2 in 2006. "The Freelander still does the off-road thing, and does it better than just about anything bar a military tank."

Does anyone read Petersen's?
