A couple of questions for all of you. But first, some qualified statements.

I'm not really much of a Romney fan. I don't think he's evil like we are lead to believe, but I find him boring and leftist even. I don't really think he's going to turn things around -- in fact, with Bush and Romney I find myself scratching my head on trying to figure out exactly what they really stand for. Which pretty much defines the Republican Party these days.

On the other hand, I find Obama terribly predictable; because I had studied as much as one could find about him and I put 2 and 2 together to get 4. The media didn't do it's homework. They kept saying they were mystified by him and that they loved him, but couldn't explain his policies, or where he was coming from, etc.... I was surprised by nothing these last four years. Well, actually, I was surprised by how quickly he moved in his first 3 months, but not by what he did.

So I'm voting for Romney, not reluctantly, just disappointingly.

Questions:

1. What's wrong with Obama these last few weeks? In other words, I'm surprised at how well Romney is doing. What gives?
2. Short of the theories based on speculation, not on what the man has actually done in the past, what frightens you about Romney getting into office?
3. What has Obama done the past four years that makes you want to give him another four?

I honestly do not think Obama wants another 4 years. He has a been there done that attitude. He wants to chill at that big new house in HI and enjoy the luxury of being a past US President that can pretty much do anything he pleases with the rest of his days (with his family too). But the machine that got him into office has other plans for him.

He's gonna blow the national defense budget on horses and bayonets.

@ Blue -- I think you could be right, at least partly. I've often got that feeling from him. But I think it comes and goes. Maybe that's why he was being sarcastic and a bit outside of seriousness -- even though his answers were not far off base, he had an attitude that didn't seem to match the debate.

@ Some Dude -- OK, so he zinged Romney with that sarcastic response. In some way he is, of course, right in this answer -- technology can take the place of pure numbers. But that isn't exactly what the point is of whether or not to have more ships or not. And I think he used the sarcasm as a way to deflect from really answering the question in full.
