I've seen reports and pictures of this guy before. I saw him and his car on parts of Hell's Revenge a few years ago. Impressive where he was. A local Moab legend. Some of the cars I've seen wheeling up in the San Juan Mountains near me have greatly impressed me over the years.

He was wheeling on the Slickrock trail last week. My brother-in-law took a picture of him yanking out a stuck 4Runner with that thing.

Hell, any cop will tell you how capable a Crown Vic is. It's behind the Rental Car as a true off-road vehicle. :D

Was this guy back on the last trip?

+1

Working a rural county, I've seen some Crown Vics in some crazy places. Those cars will go, especially with enough help from the skinny pedal! I've also seen a coworker get one stuck in a huge ditch in the middle of a trailer park and had to be dragged out by a redneck with an ATV. :D

Most of the Crown Vics in my neighborhood are either police cruisers or ones like this:

Not my style, but with 24" wheels these things have better ground clearance than my Disco.

Here's the photo that my brother in law took. Apparently this guy pulled out the 4Runner after the little white pickup failed.

Where exactly was that photo taken in the Moab area? I can't place where they are in my memory but I see a trail arrow in the lower left. Just wondering.

That picture is priceless. My Grandfather "Mr. Crown Vic" would be proud. Pretty sure he owned every generation and permutation of the Crown ever produced. All of the LTDs too.
