I have been running Kingsborne for about a year or so. I would have to say that you wont go wrong using them.

I just saw someone install Magnacores on a D2. Besides being a serious pain to install becuase of engine design, the wires looked to be equal or better quality than the Kingsbourn.

That was absolutely painful. I felt horrible for the guy. I wonder if he ever found that hemostat?

I have been using the NAPA brand 8mm Silicone wires on my other vehicles, but never on the disco. I use them on my boat and they have been working great in just about the worst of conditions (heat/moisture).

They go for about $40 for a set. I plan on using them come the spring time.

Kingsbourne here also...just installed a set on the P38, and the Disco is next in line. Can't beat the price (I believe I was 47 shipped) and the quality is really good.

I've been using Kingsborne wires off and on since the mid-80's. I've tried other brands, including Magnecor, but come back to Kingsborne. Others as cheap haven't done as well.
Magnecor are good wires, but cost a good deal more. Customer service was really good when I had a problem of my own creation, but I still went back to Kingsborne for price/quality/history with them.

Kingsborne also has the wire separators. Don't know about a DII but the OEM D1 are iffy as far as 8mm wire retention.

I have some cut to fit Moroso wires on the range rover. Old magnecors on the defender. I put a set of kingsbourns on another RRC, they seem kinda shitty, I will use NGKs next.

i don't know, $120 for a set of quality wires isn't too bad for my truck that originally sold for $45k. that's going on real world experience and theory.

No, no hemostats as of yet, and it wasn't as painful as it was stupid. I said it once and I'll say it again, the British suck at engineering.

I did find one issue with the Magnecors that the others may suffer from as well and it has to do with the lack of space between the coil pack nubs and the firewall. The Magnecors were too wide for certain leads and I had to pull them back out and readjust them to center.
Oh, and you'll need new holders as the stock ones can't handle 8mm.

Just installed a set of new 7mm magnacore wires on my 94 D1 due to my previous wires putting on a light display when you open the hood and they are expensive! Quality looks very good and seem to be exact lengths of the originals. Also not sure if there was any metal heat shrouds on any D1's out there to keep exhaust manifold heat away from certain wires. I had the boots crumble fianlly on a wire or two.

Is that with the firebraid? Because I'm on their site and its showing them as only $28. That's for D1, I know, but its similar to price with D2

Benefits of 8mm?

I am not sure, but I do not think mine have the firebraid. I have the 8mm Red (+$5.00), and I wouldn't go less on a Bosch or GEMS. Look at a plug wire like a fire hose. When the fire department shows up, do you want them to borrow your garden hose or use the hose on their truck that takes two guys to hold? The Land Rover is a wasted spark system anyway, so less resistance and more flow to the plugs is always better.

and, I am completely across the country from them, so shipping might be a little lower for you.
