Me feels like they smoking crack.
Me feels like they smoking crack.
Land Rovers are delicate, its impossible to find one that doesnt have a trashed interior or rotten floor boards.
D1 prices are soaring right now, as are RRC's. Try to find a clean D1 or RRC these days - I've looked for months.
I really wanted a white D1, don't care about year, in great shape. Could not find one. I thought I did, and drove all the way to Hickory, NC, only to come back empty because the truck was not as advertised.
I bought a 1995 RRC in remarkable condition this week. Barn find, damn near flawless interior. I have not pulled the carpets up, yet, but have not found any rust otherwise. I had to pay up for it, but it's a candidate to be a $15k RRC with a little work.
Ive been doing the same thing, but there is no way that's worth what they are asking. I'm sure someone will pay what they are asking though.
Not for a 1995 D1. It it were a 98 or 99 D1, then probably, if it were clean. The 1994/95 D1's are probably the least desirable.
What did you do about that Baltimore-lead?
Clean '96 - '99 D1's are still out there for a decent price but the "word" is getting out there and the "part-hipster" crowd are slowly going to them as they become scared away by RRC prices. As the Classic tide rises it brings with it the Disco! When you start seeing Bonhams, Sotheby's, R&M, Keeno Brothers rolling Disco's up on the block it'll be too late. Discos and to some degree RRCs aren't like long-nose 911's - they're future as "investment-grade" is FAR from certain. I really do believe they have the same hype early Grand Wagoneers had and that's not good. Once we see ICON "making" an RRC or Disco all bets are off!
