"There is nothing to compare with the roar of a Rover V8". Well, other than anythingmore modern than 1964. Thats a lot of dough for a used truck with a 20 plus year old power plant.

People are buying that crap all day long...then wonder why thier $120k investment rides like a tractor, can't get outof it's own way, leaks like a sive on a rainy day, marks it's trail with every fluid that it needs to survive and get 10mpg...then add 20k when they either find one with, or buy a used 200tdi

I can't get over those stupid Jeep tires hanging out past the fender flares. What a turd.

One of my neighbors recently has been driving around a G-wagen 4x4 squared. The thing totally looks the part of the lime-greeen douchemobile, but I was surprised to see the respectable specs. Still not worth $200k+.

Thats always gotten me. They have frint and rear lockers, but the Rovers came with open diffs, other than a few of the newer trucks with rear lockers

All these "builders" are enjoying the craze. Give it a paint job, bolt some shit on it and sell the it to some d-bag in Greenwich for his South Hamptons car. Hell - he'll drive once every other week anyway. You ever seen any of the Raugh Welt Porsches'? This dude screws a bunch of outlandish flares on 964s' and gets $150k for them! I'm gonna "build" Rav 4s!

Everyone building a $100k+ Defender is likely building junk IMO. For that kind of money you are better off waiting for ECR to build you something that isn't trying to be a G Wagen.

I've had a couple good offers to put defenders back together for people. I think someone who's been around the product for a while could make a pretty good living putting together other peoples trucks. I've installed the Safety Devices external roll cages. I've done pre delivery inspections on shit tons of Defenders and Disco's. My boss has made it pretty clear that he would consider me doing that in my shop at home stealing from him, and I'm not planning on testing him on that.
