LOL. Mechanic called, Disco is ready to pick up. Was just the MAF. So I'm on my way home in my other car just now and as I pull into my neighborhood I hear a flapping sound in the engine bay right behind the seats. Car stalls and the dash lights up like Kwanza. Think I just shredded the serp belt. Why Rover gods, why?

Just pulled it into the garage from the driveway that I managed to coast into. Full blown flapping and stench of shredded rubber. At least it's just a belt. Guess I'll ride the wife's bike with the kiddie cart to take my little boy to school then ride my mountain bike to pick up the Disco. Then work on the car. Good times.

Nope, just the belt delaminating. Replaced it with a spare and runs like a champ now. I'm ashamed that I let it get to this point...but it's not exactly easy to inspect.

Yes, I took everything apart last week and sliced the belt in several places with an exacto knife.
