    Block is the same. RR has an oil cooler, Disco does not. You will need to use the Disco front cover. Other than that, it's pretty straight forward. Same goes for GEMS RR 4.6 into a D1. Throttle linkage on GEMS RR does not have a setup for kickdown, so to put the 4.6 plenum in a D1 you have...

    Exactly. It is a maintenance item, however. Brushes wear out. They come with the regulator. Apparently someone thinks they have issues, though, if they're willing to cobble something like this: Somehow a Chinese reman GM alternator must be immune to mud ingestion.
