Lol yep put the 6 grand toward a new engine. Agreed on southern trucks....bought both of our D2s from NC....no rust. You're guaranteed to have engine work to some extent, so find one worthy of putting the money in...ie no rust

    DII Seat Cover Recommendations?

Britpart seat covers arrived today from mcdonald4x4 in UK (ebay UK seller). Around 115 shipped. The fit is a little loose, but it doesnt slide around when seated. There were no instructions, and i was a little confused about the straps that are supplied...ended up removing side trim on seat...

    death wobble

Be sure to double check the bushings on the steering stabilizer, make sure it is tightened on the stud end all the way. if it was tightened originally just enough to compress bushings it may have worn enough that there is some play. I found this on my own RRC ...put a brand new stabilizer...

    DII Seat Cover Recommendations?

I didnt realize wet okole made them for discovery....just ordered some britpart ones from ebay (UK) for about 85.00 with shipping. Just the front set in black. They should be in early next week...i'll throw some pics up when they get here. I never could find a good pic of them...

    Finally did the headliner

if you're referring to the plastic trim at the top in the middle...it is pretty tough but grab on each end and pull straight out firmly....will take some persuading....there's like five or six slotted fasteners holding it on. then theres just 2 push in fasteners holding the actual headliner...

    Chirping heater fan

Ours does this about once a year...chipmunks/mice try to make a nest above the fan. Likely can just remove the fan, clean out debris and reinstall. passenger side under dash, takes about 15 minutes.

Thanks, the wife liked it...so i did the other one! The Line-x texture is not as rough as the roll on/brush on stuff.

    Buying a 2004 DII

Yes, look southern....i bought both of mine down in my home state of NC and they are spotless underneath as far as the frame goes.

    Buying a 2004 DII

No, not really nervous about it anymore....when i bought the first one, yes i was paranoid that at any moment the thing was gonna overheat or start knocking. and to be honest it still might, but i just keep diligent about checking fluid levels. As of now, the front timing cover is leaking on...

    Buying a 2004 DII

Nothing better on a snowy day than our discovery 2s...I always tell people that ask about maintenance that you really need to enjoy working on cars (which i do) or have an open wallet for your mechanic. I just picked up another D2 for 1500 that supposedly had a bad engine...did headgaskets and...

    Finally did the headliner

$50 for the local Line-X guy to spray it. Did both of our Discovery IIs. Used a shop-vac to get the foam off, took about 30 min per headliner. I never notice the headliner(s) when driving, but i did notice the sagging fabric.... I recovered the RRC with fabric, but its much simpler, and...
