Upon start up after changing the front cover, with a fresh fill of Valvoline 5w-30 high mileage, the engine sounds great. This truck did sit for a while last year and this year, only got cranked up and moved short distances as I have a work truck to drive daily. I'm really frustrated with this...
Would any of these issues be RPM dependent? The light comes on at idle, but with just a little bit of throttle, it goes off. That makes me think it's not the pressure sensor itself.
Before you say anything else, yes, I know that '03's are prone to this issue. Now, on to my issue. I was receiving a low oil pressure indicator on my dash, so I ordered an entire replacement front cover from Will Tillery. Before installing the replacement, I opened the service panel for the oil...
I've already got a front cover gasket. I just need the cover itself. I appreciate all you guys help. Drillbit, I'm interested in the cover you have. I'll get in touch with you Friday about payment and shipping arrangements.
Any idea of the condition of the oil pump gears? I've put a gear set in my existing cover about 3 years ago, and it's losing pressure again, so I don't want to take a chance on the existing cover, and $600 is currently not feasible for a new unit.

This is where I got mine from. I'm close to them just across the GA state line, so I picked mine up, but I paid local sales tax for doing that, which IIRC is about 8%. Shipping...
One thing I noticed that nobody else seems to have picked up on is the fact that the D2 with the 300Tdi swap done in the UK was done on a commercial model vehicle. Hence, that vehicle never had all the electronic wizardry that has been discussed being bypassed. I bet if you called York Land...
I live in NW GA right now, and we don't have emissions. Even when I lived in the ATL area, I never had to pass emissions, but I didn't drive the Rover then either.
I would assume that's paying them to do the work. It should be fairly simple to do the work yourself if your at all mechanical. I talked to a guy at Rusty's Off Road a couple of weeks ago that just picked up an earlier DII and was thinking about doing the same thing.
