Downshifts 2 gears at 60mph kickdown...

Not sure if this is normal, because my other 3 rovers never did it, in fact most the time at 60 there was no kickdown... but this 96 I finally got up and running, you kick it down out 60, it downshifts 2 gears and you take off... Here's video of it .... Kick down at about the 1 minute mark...

    d1 idles at 2000 rpm.

Truck idles at 2000 RPM. Put it into gear, idle is fine. Drive around idle is fine. Put it into park or neutral, Idle goes back up to 2000 rpm. 96 D1. .

97 D1, runs rough, gas smell, smoking exhaust.

Unplug your ECM... see if there is any corrosion at the connectors etc... put dielectric grease on and put it back on... Here's a 25 page thread detailing my almost same issue, but only tossing the p1316 code... http://landroverforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=36444 Put a new (used) ECM in...

    Aftermarket Catalytic Converter review

The rear o2 sensors really don't do much, other that tell you the cats are working. As I understand it, they don't modify how the truck runs in any way. So why not just for go them? That said, in my setup I did weld in the 2 extra 12mm bungs and put them in... Video of how mine are setup...

    Need ECM 96 D1

Looks like my ECM is bad... good going in bad signals coming out. All I have access to here is a 95's ECM which of course will not work. Anyone have a ECM that I could put into the truck? Thanks

I had that one just laying around my shop. Not sure why I had it or where I got it. Just happen to fit.

There are plenty of cheap screw in type fuel pressure gauges. I simply just leave one on at this point... total cost about 15 bucks if you look around. you can see what I'm talking about in this youtube video.... http://www.youtube.com/user/NGARover#p/u/5/eP6sSGc8GP8

    OHM readings.. confused.

Might have to do that then. I can get my old originals tested for 50 bucks for the set. That will at least tell me if they are working correctly. The full set of the ford 19# was 35 bucks. so it was a cheap way to see if my injectors where the issue to start with. Course, I can't do a lot with...

    OHM readings.. confused.

I've cleaned the MAF with with maf cleaner, again, twice. I've also swapped the o2 sensors from the rear to the front, cleaning them in the process, (Heating them up red hot with a torch and removing any contamination) made no difference. Look, you don't have to be an ass, I'm asking a question...

    OHM readings.. confused.

Well, great. If it's not the coolant temp sensor causing this issue then what is? The IAVC is new. ECU was swapped to make sure mine wasn't bad. (done by a rover specialist that had the truck a week to get it to this point) I've replaced the thermostat (twice) I've had the engine compression...

    OHM readings.. confused.

LOL! But I read on here that you could use those on a di and people where running them. I can't afford to buy a new set of injectors from rover. Fuel Injectors 0 280 155 700 Set of eight (8) used 19lb yellow Ford Motorsport fuel injectors. They have been tested in good working used...
