    Too low of miles?

I bought a similar condition '04 SE in 2009 with 47k miles for $9000. The work done doesn't increase the sale price. Yes, I have done a ton of maintenance work on mine, but I was expecting (and looking forward to) that. I now know things have been done "right", and I have a good idea what will...

    D2 Coolant Leak

~1 hour to set up shop, drain coolant, wipe up all the non-caught coolant, and pull off the old pump. ~1 hour scraping, with frequent breaks to let the back of my knees go to their normal stretch. ~30 minutes put back together, ~30 minutes refilling and bleeding the coolant.

    D2 Coolant Leak

I thought I had solved my transfer case leak - I resealed the bottom cover after trying some White Shepard. It stopped for a while but is back again. :( I presume with the cleaning I did, it took a while for the leak to make its way down from where ever it is, off the bottom cover, onto the...

    D2 Coolant Leak

Water pump or front cover. It might even be coming down from the valley pan gasket. Your sump gasket looks to be leaking also. Water pump is easy. Worst bit is scraping off the old gasket. ~3 hours in my experiences. Front cover is not so easy, but you'd replace the sump gasket, could do...

    03 or 04

I did this a month back, as this was the last remaining leak :) It wasn't obvious where the leak was coming from. Fluid was beading on the bottom cover bolts, dripping onto the cross member, and then onto the ground. I removed the cross member, found that the filler hole bolt had a ton of...

    03 or 04

You generally only ever hear about things that go wrong with rovers. So there is a massive selection effect if you are trying to determine the reliability of a car from an internet forum about fixing said car. Personally, my 04 has only let me down once in 3 years and 30,000 miles (the PAS pump...

Help; Coolant leak from behind the water pump on 2001 D2

A few of the water pump bolts go straight through into the block. That one in particular goes into a coolant passage in the block. The front (timing) cover gasket will probably need replacing- although you could roll the dice and torque the bolt back in with thread sealant and see what happens...

In need of a 2nd Head Gasket Replacement after 20k miles!!!

When you reinstalled the lower intake manifold, did you have the fuel rail removed so that you could torque down the rear valley end seal properly? If not, it may simply be the valley pan gasket leaking.

Stripped head bolt block thread or something worse?

Interested to hear how the hell you managed to judge an angle of 129 degrees. It is hard enough judging 90d, even with painted markers.

    Before I get a 2004 D2..

The place I'm taking it to wants $225+tax. http://www.treadwellautotrim.com/ I've heard rumours (on here) that some places will do them for less (around $150). I thought about doing it myself, but after all the hassle of sorting the cloth, glue, whateverelse, it seems just as cheap to get...

    Before I get a 2004 D2..

SAI will be the least of your worries :) I bought my 04 in May 2009 and I have only just got to the point of being "happy" that what needs to be done has been done. If I hadn't been able to do all the work myself, then I'd be broke. As is, I paid $9000 for the truck with 47,000 on the clock...
