Its really not a big deal to get it up in the air and then stick a jack stand under it (should be doing this with ANY jack). Its what I do in the garage. The downside is carrying around more hardware.
There are a few adapters out there, unfortunately cost more than the jack...
I had someone shift and I was underneath and I can feel the nipple moving. I rebuilt that entire shifter and it was working when I did. Sometimes I would have to drive a little before it engaged and then drive again to disengage. But it's not moving now.
Thx! I'm not super crazy about it either, but the price was right and it serves it's purpose. It's really a D2 rack. I like that I can open the sunroofs, but it would also be great to delete the stock roof bars and have something flat and low.
I can get to low... I shift to N, throw it on low, shift to D, doesnt work, shift to N, go to Hi, then low, shift to D and I am in low. Same procedure in reverse to go back to hi.

The fork clamp is pretty solid, you're clamping down aluminum or steel. It's up to you, but for $60 and the ability to return it to the store, I'd take a shot.
Just installed yesterday. They don't entirely suck on the road. Minimal hum and high speed and the steering is not any worse. I have them pumped up to 50lbs right now. I'm going to chalk them tomorrow.
I've been using this setup for years. Maybe 10? Never had an issue. It's quite solid. The fork mount does 90% of the work, that rear support just keeps the bike from going sideways.
I have mine set up on a hitch mount basket.
