    98 Discovery 1 with ABS light.

    I had the same problem over a year ago. I tried the paper clip blink test about ten times and never got it to work. I confirmed that the ABS still worked by slamming on the brakes on a gravel road and then pulled the light. I never even give it a second thought now.

    loss of power, stalling - fuel system gremlin?

    I have been looking for a fix to my similar situation and wondered if you ever found out the final cause of your issue? I have almost identical symptoms, but still have the original fuel pump. I don't ever have trouble starting but when I drive on hot days for a long time and then pull off...

    How about a working VSS? And the pneumatic tube for the rear step? (The kids love the rear step and they keep leaving it down.) Thanks.

    Battery life of Door Remote

    Thanks for the note about the broken solder joints. I've had the same problem for several years and I just looked to find two of my solder joints are broken.

    Sunrooof jam

    Mine would open to the tilt position, but wouldn't slide back, so I gave it a strong nudge and it has worked ever since. Not sure what the problem was, but that fixed it. For you though, the problem may be the brackets that connect the sunroof to the track. The bushings on mine are shot and...

    Lug nut covers???

    I had the same issue with mine, where a shop messed up my lug nuts using the worng socket. I bought some new/used ones, through a contact here and now carry the correct socket in my truck and will give it to the shop next time I have them balance and align the tires.

    1997 disco dies out

    I've had the same problem with mine and am working to get a replacement fuel temperature sensor, crank positon sensor and VSS. I think the issue is with the fuel sensor, but I've got a couple of different issues that have lead me to replace the other items as well. Also, haveyou checked your...

    using multimeter?

    I wasn't even thinking about alligator clips, but that is a great idea to have. The clamp I was reffering to is actaully a part of the meter that instead of plugging probes into, it opens up and goes around the wire. I think it actually measures inductance or something in the field around the...

    using multimeter?

    There is no doubt that Fluke makes a great meter, but you'll pay a lot more than the average home DIYer would want to spend. I bought a Craftsman Pro model that I use all the time around the house and on my cars and I've never regreted the money I spent on it. The same model for a Fluke would...

    Valley pan gasket question

    I'm looking at doing the same thing, but not sure about what is involved in doing a valve job and the gears. Do I just pull them out and take them to a machine shop? I've never tackled anything like this before, but I would like to do it right and just once if I can. My truck's got 140K miles...

    CD Changer,96 LRDISCO

    I have had to reset my radio a couple of times and never had any trouble with getting the CD Changer to work perfectly. I don't know if the plug for the power is separate from the plug for the radio controller, so maybe there is an issue with a plug. It is also possible that the CD changer...

    help trying to refill tranny after filter change...

    This is amazing timing. I just drained mine yesterday and had the same issue. I was expecting to add two more quarts when the funnel overflowed all over the driveway. I plan to check after driving today and will keep the fluid that I was going to return. Thanks.

    quick question

    I replaced the spring and shocks in mine a couple of years ago and don't think it took me more than about 4 hours. The springs are the toughest part. I was able to borrow a spring compressor tool from Advance and that made a huge difference. It is easier and safer. I supported the truck at...
